Administration

President - Father Ron Jakows

The President, as the presiding chief executive officer of the school, has the overall responsibility for the management and upkeep of the school.  By his presence and his support of the Principal and other administrators, he assures the religious, academic and social atmosphere that should be characteristic of the mission of Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School.  With the assistance of the advisory board, the President represents the school to the public and tries to engage community support for various programs of the school.  In his efforts to assure that young men and women can leave Neumann/Goretti with knowledge of faith and a self-assurance that enables them to pursue their career goals, the President directs the long-range planning that provides ongoing development and fiscal stability.

 

Principal - Mrs. Patricia Sticco 

The Principal is ultimately responsible for the daily operations of the school, which include instituting and implementing policies and programs in various areas, such as academics, discipline, guidance, and activities.  In the absence of the President, the Principal is the presiding executive officer of the school. 

 

Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs - Ms. Mary Catherine Alverio

The Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs is directly responsible to the Principal and assists in the daily operation of the school's academic programs, and in the academic placement and progress of students.

 

Assistant Principal for Student Services - Ms. Gina Beren 

The Assistant Principal for Student Services is directly responsible to the Principal and assists in the daily operation of the school's discipline code, its guidance and health services, and its counseling services with government or private agencies.

 

Assistant Principal for Student Affairs - Mr. Luis DeVelasco

The Assistant Principal for Student Affairs is directly responsible to the Principal and oversees the student activities and athletics, and the coordination of the school calendar.

 

Assistants to the Administration

School Minister - Rev. John P. Hutter

The School Minister is a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and is responsible for overseeing the religious activities of the school.  The school minister reports directly to the Principal and works closely with administrators, faculty, students, parents, and community to enhance the religious formation of students through the planning of school retreats and liturgies and facilitating growth through prayer.  Other duties include being present at funerals, visiting hospitals, coordinating the activities of the Ministry Team, and providing sacramental experiences for the school community.

Department Chairpersons

Each of the academic departments is coordinated by a Department Chairperson.  Chairpersons assist the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs with the tracking of students, the preparation of teaching rosters, development of the academic program, and the evaluation of department members.

Director of Guidance - Ms. Marlena Toto

The Director of Guidance supervises the counseling and guidance programs, including college and career programs, assists students with the college application process, assists with the standardized testing program, coordinates auxiliary services, and assists the administration in providing related services.

Athletic Director - Mr. Charles Reitano

The Athletic Director coordinates all aspects of the extracurricular and co-curricular athletic prgrams and supervises the coaching staff to implement the school philosophy, the code of conduct, and the rules and regulations of the Catholic League.

 

Director of Institutional Advancement - Mrs. Dorothy Longo

The Director of Institutional Advancement works directly with the President of the school and is responsible for the recruitment, financial aid, fund-raising/development and public relations of the school.  The DIA is responsible for all the marketing materials that the school will provide to prospective students, donors, and public.  The DIA must also develop and maintain a working relstionship with the school administration to organize various events such as recruitment visits, open houses, shadow days, and informational sessions.
